Cooking at home vs. Buying at McDonalds – large family style

The math is simple and for as much as we would have to order out I believe cooking at home saves us time as well.

This morning I made what would be 18 sausage egg Mcmuffins for our crew. Here’s what we would’ve paid if we went to Mcdonalds…

Here’s what a grocery order would be and there would be left over cheese and sausage. I also tend to buy most of these in bulk or get eggs from our chickens!

Now, I know not everyone need to make this quantity but it really does show how different it can be. Which would you choose? To each their own!

Five things I do for Fun!

List five things you do for fun.

  • Read my books. I am currently reading The Secret History and Are You There God, Its Me Margret. I am also listening to The Reading List. With the children I am listening to The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe, and reading aloud Three Gold Doubloons.
  • Deep dive into Bible studies from https://shop.precept.org/pages/precept-upon-precept. I have been working on Acts for probably 2 years, I loved Hebrews too.
  • Playing cribbage with my man, dominating in Texas 42 (dominoes) and battling it out in Ticket to Ride or 7 Wonders. We all enjoy a good family round of soccer in the yard when the weather is good or to throw the football around.
  • Crocheting on the porch with a cold drink in summer/fall with my bestie like we are little old ladies! Also with a hot drink cuddled up under blankets, a fire going and hallmark on the TV.
  • Cooking, baking and nutrition. Not always at the same time!

Now it’s your turn, share your 5 favorite things.

My Friday Reads

Going to try something new here and share what I/we’ve been reading. Some weeks you will get my list and thoughts, others the kids might chime in, if they wish!

My current reads:

It’s that time again! This one is new to me, but it’s helping refresh my love for homeschooling.
I’ve always loved her music and am enjoying her very hard story.
These are books I am listening to with the kids. We’ve slowed down a lot again since we are not doing as much driving, since camps have ended.

Other books I’ve finished in July:

This is the second in a series and I love this so much I pre-ordered the 3rd! Each book is based on a different couple in their small Alabama town. ❤️
This one grabbed me from the beginning and never let go. I read most of it in 2 days.
This is also 2nd in a series and I am loving it! The character development is great and the action has started early in both books so far. This series has 28 books currently and a hallmark series!

Books on my soon TBR list (the ones sitting on my nightstand or on hold at the library) are:

I don’t know much about this one but figured I would check it out.
This story sounds so interesting!

Well I hope yo keep this going every Friday, hope you will join us and share what you’ve been reading as well!

Dropped the Ball

June has been a whirl wind with running kids to church camp nearly every week, a nasty virus that came through quickly (thank God!) And trying to balance schedules with Doug getting home from work and my new hours at the library! Whew.

We have a lot to look forward to with out Fourth of July celebration, my first Summer Library Program running this month and Riah’s birthday at the end of it.

I’ll share a few picture I’ve taken and hope to be back here sooner than last time 😉
